Your hormones are essential regulators of your health, as they act as chemical messengers in your body and control numerous bodily functions. They influence your metabolism, your immune system, your fertility and even your mood. An imbalance of these finely tuned substances can have a huge impact on your well-being and lead to a variety of health problems.
Symptoms such as fatigue, unexplained weight gain, sleep disturbances, decreased libido and mood swings can be signs of hormonal imbalance. Measuring your hormone status is therefore more than just a simple health check; it is a window into your body’s complex biochemistry.
A comprehensive look at your hormone status can help uncover hidden triggers for the above disorders that other tests may miss. Furthermore, an endocrinology consultation offers you the opportunity to create a personalized plan to optimize your health routine.
The “Hormone Center at the Opera” comes as good as to your home. Regardless of where you live, thanks to modern technology you can take a hormone test and receive advice from renowned endocrinologists without having to schedule a physical visit.
The hormone test in collaboration with the Hormone Center at the Opera in Munich is a precise tool that provides a detailed analysis of your hormone status. Rather than focusing on just one or two hormones, the test measures a wide range to provide a more complete picture of your hormonal health. From sex hormones to metabolic hormones such as insulin and thyroid hormones, the hormone test allows you to understand the subtle interactions and balance between these crucial molecules in your body.
It makes little sense to derive treatment consequences from individual hormone values alone. This is why the neotes hormone test provides a sound basis for possible treatment approaches by comprehensively analyzing various hormones. Beyond the figures and data, the hormone test also offers you something priceless: certainty and clarity. Take control and take proactive steps to improve your health instead of just reacting to symptoms.
Knowing your hormone status alone is not enough. It is equally important to understand the results and know how to take appropriate action. That’s why we have teamed up with the endocrinologists at the renowned Hormone Center at the Opera in Munich, so that you not only receive personalized advice, but also have the opportunity to fully understand your test results. The specialists will help you classify your specific hormone levels and make appropriate recommendations to optimize your health.
These recommendations may include changes in your diet, adjustments to your lifestyle or, in some cases, even the prescription of hormones. In all cases, the goal is to restore hormonal balance when needed, improving health and well-being. It’s all about providing data, but also practical, actionable solutions that can make a real difference in your life.
Our hormones not only influence our physical and mental well-being, but also play a decisive role in our ageing process. As we get older, our hormone profile changes due to the natural biological ageing process. Some of the hormones that decline over time include oestrogen and progesterone in women – which ultimately leads to menopause – and testosterone in men, which can lead to symptoms of andropause or ‘male menopause’.
The production of many hormones begins to decline in women from around the age of 25. This is a natural process, but it can also be influenced by external factors such as stress, an unhealthy diet, lack of sleep or medication. One example is excessive hair loss in women. Hair loss can be caused by dysthyroidism, absolute or relative estrogen deficiency, hyperandrogenemia (including an increase in DHT) or iron or micronutrient deficiency. The effects of hormone deficiency are individual and can vary from person to person. However, it is known that certain diseases or health problems can affect hormone production.
A lack of certain hormones, particularly the sex hormones oestrogen and testosterone, can lead to various health problems. These include osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and a decrease in muscle mass. In addition, hormones can also have a direct impact on skin ageing as they affect the production of collagen, a protein that keeps the skin firm and elastic. Given the diverse role that hormones play in our bodies, it is clear that understanding these complex messengers and their impact on our ageing process can help us make controlled decisions about our health and wellbeing.
It doesn’t help to just assume. Only consistent and comprehensive testing will bring comprehensive results.
The technology behind our hormone tests is a combination of state-of-the-art analysis devices and advanced machine learning models. We work hand in hand with one of the leading hormone laboratories in Munich, which is under the direction of recognized endocrinologists at the Hormone Center at the Opera in Munich.
Hormone levels are usually determined using a method called immunoassay. This method uses antibodies and chemicals to measure hormone levels in the blood.
For the analysis of hormone levels, we use the world’s leading analysis system for hormone analysis from Roche, the Roche Cobas system. This system can analyze up to 900 different test preparations per hour.
About two weeks after we receive your blood sample, you will receive your results in the form of a protected hormone report. Before that, a lot happens behind the scenes.
Week 1: Hormone extraction
After receiving your blood sample, we begin with the hormone extraction. During this process, we separate the serum – the liquid part of the blood – from the solid components, the blood cells, by centrifugation. This step ensures ideal conditions for the subsequent hormone tests.
Week 1-2: Hormone analysis using sandwich ELISA
We carry out a detailed hormone analysis with the serum obtained. We use the highly sensitive and specific sandwich ELISA method (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). This is a method in which two antibodies surround the hormone to be measured, which enables us to quantify even the smallest amounts of a hormone. This means that we can determine the exact amount of each specific hormone in your sample.
Week 2: Comparison with standard values
In the second week, your individual hormone values are compared with the standard values. These normal values are based on gender and age and come from an extensive database of healthy control subjects. If we find deviations from these normal values, this does not necessarily mean that something is wrong. It is merely an indication that further examinations or discussions may be necessary.
Week 2+: Results announcement
After about two weeks of thorough analysis, you will receive your personal hormone report. This report contains detailed information about your individual hormone levels and provides valuable insight into your hormone status. We understand that this information can be overwhelming. That’s why we offer you an endocrinology consultation where you have the opportunity to discuss your results and clarify any questions you may have. If necessary, appropriate hormone therapies or treatments can then be decided upon.
What does the report contain?
Your hormone profile
A comprehensive presentation of your hormone values, including a list of all hormones measured.
Medical advice
A detailed interpretation and explanation of your results by our experienced team of endocrinologists, in the practice or online. Prescription of hormones or therapies if required.
Lifestyle recommendations
Based on your test results, you will receive science-based recommendations to optimize your lifestyle. This advice is aimed at improving your overall health and well-being and helping to correct any hormonal imbalances.
A hormonal step towards health prevention
Every person is unique – from the color of their eyes to their hormone levels. Science has long since begun to recognize the potential of hormone research to give us new insights into how our lifestyle affects our hormone balance.
Current scientific evidence suggests that our hormones play a central role in our health and longevity. They regulate a wide range of bodily functions, from our mood and energy levels to our metabolism and reproduction. Therefore, the widespread assumption that our health is only determined by our genes is no longer tenable.
What does this mean for health prevention? It means that by changing our lifestyle habits, we can potentially influence our hormone balance and thus reduce our risk of certain diseases. In addition, hormone research allows us to take a more personalized approach to health prevention.
As each person has a unique hormonal profile, future prevention strategies could be tailored to the specific needs of each individual based on their hormone levels.
“Hormones control our mental and physical health from youth to old age, which is why balancing age-related hormone deficiencies is one of the most important ‘good ageing’ measures.”

FAQ
Are you motivated to change your lifestyle and track the impact on your hormone levels? Repeatability and better prediction of physical function status will allow you to better track the impact of your lifestyle changes on your biological age and system aging levels. The hormone test is not a one-time test, but should be considered as part of a regular health check.
How often you should repeat the test depends on various factors, including your current state of health, your lifestyle habits and your personal interest in monitoring your biological ageing.
If you have just started taking steps to improve your health or have made important lifestyle changes, it may be useful to repeat the test after about 6-12 months to see how these changes have affected your hormone levels. Regular testing can help to detect changes early and adjust accordingly.
The hormone test allows you to check the effects of your efforts. For example, if you have made changes to your diet or exercise program, a follow-up test can show whether these changes have had a positive effect on your hormone levels.
The decision to have a hormone test depends on several factors, including your personal health history, your current health status and your health goals.
Some people opt for hormone testing at a young age to have a starting point for their health and wellness journey. Others might consider it if they notice changes in their health or if they have specific health concerns. It can be useful for women to have a hormone test if they are experiencing symptoms of the menopause or have problems with fertility.
For men, hormone testing can help identify problems such as low energy, reduced sexual desire or difficulty building muscle. Note: A hormone test is not a substitute for regular medical examinations and health checks. It should be seen as a complementary tool that can provide additional insight into your health.
Each test kit is labeled with an expiration date. As a rule, the shelf life up to
is 2 years.
The hormone test can also be purchased as a gift and given to another person. The person who carries out the test does not necessarily have to be the person who bought it.
