L-leucine is an essential, protein-forming amino acid with a branched chain, which is mainly found in muscle tissue and the liver. It belongs to the group of BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids).
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is an essential precursor of the active coenzyme pyridoxal phosphate (pyridoxal-5-phosphate or PLP, P-5-P). This coenzyme enables around 100 different enzymatic reactions and plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism.
One of the main benefits of vitamin B6 is its ability to support the breakdown of homocysteine and contribute to the normal synthesis of cysteine. Cysteine is an important component of important substances such as coenzyme A, creatine, glutathione and taurine.
