Blood hormone analysis for a clear picture of your hormonal balance.

  • Hormone test with blood collection
For the Hormone Test, a small amount of venous blood is collected by a doctor of your choice. The sample is sent to the Hormonzentrum an der Oper in Munich, a specialised hormone laboratory with an endocrinology focus that has been established for decades. Billing is carried out in accordance with the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ), meaning that private health insurers may reimburse a large proportion of the costs depending on the policy.
  • Innovation through a leading hormone laboratory
The test was developed in cooperation with the Hormonzentrum an der Oper, one of Germany’s leading hormone laboratories with an experienced team of endocrinologists. You benefit from decades of expertise in hormone diagnostics and from laboratory processes specifically designed for the precise determination of hormonal parameters.
  • Analysis of relevant hormones and vitamins
Depending on the selected variant, up to 17 meaningful hormones and vitamins are determined in the laboratory, including testosterone, progesterone, cortisol and vitamin D. Measurement is performed using blood and, compared with saliva-only tests, enables a particularly reliable assessment of hormone status.
  • Measurement for your own health and longevity routine
The results show how your current lifestyle is reflected in your hormone profile and where there are indications of possible imbalances. This gives you a new perspective on the interaction between lifestyle, hormone balance and the ageing process, and enables you to decide on suitable next steps together with your treating doctor.
  • Medical consultation and detailed report
Once the sample has been received and the analysis completed, your Hormone Report is generally available within a few weeks. The report presents the measured values in a structured manner, classifies them in the context of the reference ranges and forms the basis for a medical consultation with endocrinologists, who can provide you with scientifically based recommendations regarding possible further diagnostic or therapeutic measures.

FAQ

We have the answers

The neotes Hormone Test is not a conventional at-home test with sample collection at home. You order the test kit online and then have the required blood samples collected by your doctor or at a cooperating medical practice. The blood is subsequently sent to a specialised hormone laboratory and analysed there.

The neotes Hormone Test was designed together with the endocrinologists at the Hormonzentrum an der Oper in Munich. This means that the experience of a specialised endocrinology centre is incorporated into the selection of parameters, the analysis and the medical interpretation of the results.

Yes, the neotes Hormone Test is available in female and male variants because the relevant questions and hormone parameters differ. For individuals with a female hormonal profile, for example, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is also taken into account, while for individuals with a male hormonal profile, other focal points such as the testosterone profile and certain metabolic hormones are prioritised.

The test is primarily intended for adults aged 18 and over who would like to better understand their hormonal balance, for example in cases of fatigue, sleep problems, menstrual-cycle or menopausal symptoms, reduced performance, or changes in body composition and mood. It may be particularly useful if you would like to clarify together with endocrinology specialists whether hormonal factors contribute to your symptoms.

The test kits generally remain usable for several months; the exact expiry date can be found on the packaging. Store the kit in a dry place at room temperature and use it no later than the stated date to ensure the stability of the samples and buffer solutions.

The test kit contains everything your doctor needs for the blood collection: prepared blood-collection tubes, separation or cooling materials where applicable, labelling stickers, an accompanying form containing the required information, and return packaging for shipment to the specialised hormone laboratory.

The Hormone Test is suitable as a gift, for example via our digital Longevity Card gift voucher. The recipient can use it to select and order the appropriate Hormone Test and independently track the entire process. Click here to access the Longevity Card gift voucher.

After ordering and registering your test kit, arrange an appointment with your doctor or at a cooperating medical practice. At the recommended time, for example in the morning while fasting and, for the female variant, possibly on specific days of the menstrual cycle, blood is collected, placed in the enclosed tubes, clearly labelled and sent to the hormone laboratory in accordance with the instructions.

Depending on the hormone profile, you should comply with certain requirements, such as fasting, the time of day or the day of the menstrual cycle. You should also document your current medication in full, particularly hormone preparations, thyroid medication, contraceptives and other relevant medicines, and must not change it without consulting a doctor, so that the endocrinologists can classify your values correctly.

Many hormones follow a pronounced daily rhythm, which is why blood collection is often recommended in the morning, frequently while fasting. Depending on the profile and the question being investigated, additional times or specific days of the menstrual cycle may be specified; the exact recommendations can be found in the instructions and will be provided by your treating medical practice.

Hormonal medications, such as thyroid preparations, hormonal contraception and hormone replacement therapy, can significantly influence the measurement results and must never be discontinued without consulting a doctor. Instead, you should provide full details of your current medication in the questionnaire or during the discussion of the findings so that the endocrinology specialists can interpret the values correctly.

In principle, the test can also be carried out while taking supplements because it reflects your current hormone status. However, if you would like to determine what your hormone profile looks like without certain preparations, you can plan the test before starting them or after a defined break, following consultation with the treating specialists, and take this into account when interpreting the results.

The blood samples should be packaged and sent to the laboratory promptly after collection in accordance with the instructions so that the requirements relating to temperature and storage duration are met. This is generally handled directly by the medical practice collecting the sample. If you organise the shipment yourself, you should follow the enclosed packaging and shipping instructions precisely.

The return address of the specialised hormone laboratory is already printed on the documents or return envelope. You or your medical practice only need to package the samples as described and return them using the designated shipping method; no additional address details are required.

For returns from outside Germany, the enclosed shipping instructions and any cooling or transport requirements should be followed precisely. Depending on the country, biological samples may need to be declared as such. Allow for potentially longer shipping times and customs checks, and ensure that the samples reach the laboratory as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can organise the entire sample logistics process, including blood collection, requesting the findings and shipment, together with your doctor. However, the test itself will continue to be evaluated in the specialised hormone laboratory. You can then discuss the results directly at the medical practice or as part of an endocrinology consultation.

Depending on the selected profile, different hormones are determined, for example stress hormones such as cortisol and DHEA-S, sex hormones such as oestradiol, progesterone and testosterone, thyroid parameters or other endocrine markers relevant to your particular question. The results show whether your values lie within the respective reference or target ranges and how the interaction of the hormones may affect typical symptoms and your well-being.

The results report presents your hormone values in clear tables and charts, supplemented by reference ranges and an initial endocrinological assessment. You also receive explanatory texts about the individual hormones, possible influencing factors and guidance on which aspects you can discuss in detail during the endocrinology consultation or with your own doctor.

The hormone analysis is carried out in a specialised hormone laboratory with extensive experience in endocrinological diagnostics and regular quality assurance. The selection of parameters and the interpretation recommendations were developed together with endocrinologists from the Hormonzentrum an der Oper and are based on current scientific findings; however, they do not replace an individual medical diagnosis or treatment decision.

After your blood sample has arrived at the hormone laboratory, the evaluation generally takes approximately two weeks. As soon as the report has been completed, you will be informed and can access your results in a protected online area or, depending on the package booked, discuss them directly during a medical or video consultation.

Your samples are processed pseudonymously in the laboratory using a sample code; personal data are managed separately. The digital results report is provided via a protected platform, and the data are processed in accordance with the applicable data-protection and security standards.

Yes, the neotes Hormone Test includes an endocrinology consultation with specialised doctors, typically after the laboratory results are available. During this consultation, your symptoms, pre-existing conditions, medications and hormone values are discussed and medically assessed together, giving you a clear picture of your situation.

If the evaluation indicates a hormonal disorder requiring treatment, the consulting endocrinologist may, depending on your overall situation and the applicable legal framework, provide specific treatment recommendations and, where necessary, prescribe hormones or other treatments. Whether medication is prescribed, which medication is prescribed and to what extent is always decided individually during the medical consultation and cannot be guaranteed in general.

On request, you can book additional consultation packages in which your hormone values are placed in the context of your overall health and longevity profile. Together with the specialists, individual strategies relating to lifestyle, possible treatment options, monitoring and further tests can then be developed.

The test is particularly suitable for people who would like to better understand their hormonal balance and want a well-founded endocrinological assessment as the basis for further steps, for example where hormonal imbalances are suspected, during menopause, in cases of menstrual-cycle or stress-related problems, or as part of a holistic longevity strategy. Any measures derived from the results should always be coordinated closely with endocrinology specialists.
